Video Blog 1 - The making Of Soul Sessions "The Drum Session"

This was the first day in Headlinerz Studios recording for "Soul Sessions".   While in the recording studio i invited african drummers "Kham" and "Haru" to help lay the foundation for the album.   We worked on a song entitled "Believe In Yourself" which is an ode to "Fela Kuti" and "Afro beat" music.  "Believe In Yourself" was originally built from a sample, but after hearing the vibe of the drums we decided it was best to mute the sample and work with the natural drum elements.  The drum is the foundation of all music, especially Soul based music.  Bringing in the drums gave the making of this album a new energy, it caused me to turn to live instruments to drive the album.  

Soul Sessions will be released on November 29th, 2013!!!   Stay Tuned For Part 2 Next Thursday!
