Possibly best known for his feature film, The Black Godfather, Evans has directed 2 documentaries, 2 feature films and numerous commercials for clients such as Calvin Klein, ESPN, and Castrol among many others. Mr. Evans is currently in post production on an upcoming feature film with numerous projects in the wings.
An Afternoon with John Evans will feature the documentary "Prelude to Revolution" at 2 p.m. including a talk with Mr. Evans followed by his 1978 feature film "Black Jack" at 4 p.m. Tickets are $5 and are available for purchase at www.fringede.org Prelude to Revolution Mature Audiences Only, 36 minutes Followed by an artist talk hosted by local music artist Richard Raw On the first of two films, John Evans expertly captures the controlled fury of Huey Newton, leader of the Black Panther Organization. Evans guides Mr. Newton through the philosophy which drives and motivates them during an interview filmed inside the prison where Newton was being held.
